Things may have been a bit quiet on the blog front but I have been beavering away on the layout. I have now laid out the full 70km of track that links the port and the uranium waste depository.
In addition to the main north-south line I have started to lay out the east-west line that links the capital of Al Alwani with the Al Hashan Airport.
Both lines need a lot of work but I managed to finish most of the main terminal and surrounds, and for the moment am now working on the main works depot just outside the terminal.
And at last I have been able to progress the site far enough to take some screen shots

After a concentrated effort to finish the pack I finally finished the last couple of signs. This means that I can now take spent fuel and reprocess it into new fuel rods and nuclear waste. The pack is available from the download section of the website.
Everything seems to be working so I can now transfer this to the actual model and start to lay some actual track.
I've spent the last couple of weeks getting the basic land heights right and everything seems OK for the track. Hopefully I can start posting some pictures over the next couple of weeks.
I've also just finished laying out the basic website. Luckily I stumbled across a photo of the Crown Prince when I was trawling the web so that's now been included in the background.

Well last night I lost all the work I've been creating in Trainz since I got the game in January. The problem was triggered by CCP deciding it wasn't going to work and it persuaded Trainz 06 to stop work in sympathy.
I backed up my directories and reinstalled the software. Success, everything's working - except my personal items are showing. I thought I'd check the backup directory, unfortunately I used CCP, which wiped the 'local' directory. Good bye work
Actually losing 8 months of work isn't that traumatic as most of it has been learnings, and little fiddlings. So it hasn't been organised in any sort of way, and of course now the website is up I really should start from scratch.
I just wasn't expecting it to be from scratch scratch
The first thing I'm doing is recreating my nuclear industry (that requires downloading the nuclear wagons, bogies, container, and plant).

After spending a week trying to get PostNuke to work the way I wanted it to I've decided to bite the bullet and set up the site from scratch. I've just about finished configuring PHPNews for the Blog.
