Once in a blue moon...
Date: 30/8/04
That's right, its actually a blue moon. That means the second full moon of the month, go figure. I can actually see it through one of these little side windows we have up in this loft, it's rather pretty. But it's more red.
As Skye remarked I did a lot this weekend, I didn't think I had; but considering I was out a lot as well as doing heaps of work. I did do a lot. I still managed to get frustrated at not doing much, and I didn't play many computer games. What!? No computer games, yeah. I played a bit on Saturday and for half an hour or so on Sunday before we left for the open day. I've just about finished my homework, I've just got to type in these edits to my Drama Essay and I'm done. And file it in one of my fast dwindling folio holders, I'll have to empty out last years stuff. Drama is first up tomorrow, and this monologue seems to be encompassing my life, Zak's got something happening that he needs to talk about tomorrow in Information Systems however. That should prove uneventful, unless he actually tells me about it. We've also go a lot of other things to discuss, it's best not to question the nature of our friendship. It's slightly business like, where we pretend to be professional. Professionalism is 90% pretend however, so we've got it about 95% down. The rest is experience. Professional what you ask? That's the other 5%.
Turns out Howard's calling the troops back from Iraq in October, which coincides with the elections. He's actually quite good at that sort of thing, pulling off public opinion swings. But it might bite back at him, we'll see.
The end to a rather remarkable weekend, perhaps I can make it the beginning of a remarkable week. Which should involve cleaning my room, arrg, I'm 17! I should have a clean room, at the moment it's covered in books. Paper, leaflets, sketches, poems, letters, phone numbers, you name it!!! There are foot prints on past exam papers. FOOT PRINTS! But that seems to be getting normal for me. The dust somehow acts as an ink...
Well, back to finishing off this homework so I can watch some TV before nap time.
Unimpressive...
Date: 29/8/04
The month is almost over, and so far I've referred three people to my site. I doubt they've checked back. Oh well. I'll tell them I've updated a bit. It's a three day weekend so I've pushed all my work back to the Monday, yay. I finally started compiling a playlist of songs I like, all legal. They're all free, and extremely non conforming. Meaning they kinda don't fit together, but seeing as I like most songs with some semblance of tune it's bound to happen that way. I'm adding in strange sounds to boot, it promises to be rather interesting listening. I may burn them onto a disk for my listening pleasure, and others confused faces. Windows Media Player wasn't too friendly with me creating the playlist, but I brought it around with much clicking and help file reading.
I went to UWA today, that's University of Western Australia for you non Uni savvy types. It was, as per the title of this post, unimpressive. Very unimpressive. Sure, the BUILDING's look nice, but the course framework for education is crap. And the teachers seemed rather air headed, and didn't seem to listen. And their pracs are...near non existent. You could tell especially, because the final year students they got to talk about their experiences had only begun, nearing the end of their degrees, and they were pretty freaked out. And the atmosphere was poor. Didn't like it. I think I'd pretty much stuck with Curtin from before, UWA was an option; but Curtin has a certain allure. Mainly everything about it. Which is muchly fine with me, of course.
What else have I been up to. We're on to the last drama task, beginning a new English assessment, did a history doc study, got an essay back. 92.5% hell yah! I can do better, but considering I'm so laid back; note lack of use of word lazy, tough luck. It's really time for me to put my head to the grinder and smash all I can in there, and use my superior understanding skills to get me a coke! Yep. I can open fridges. And then...sit here and try to study. Especially Chemistry, everything else I'm cool with. Oh...and maths, my true maths study begins in a few weeks though. Of course, I've got to check up on some stuff. And talk to some heads of department for the quartania, which is scheduled for Tuesday. AND write my monologue, which will be put up here; cause I wanna.
I'm loving this playlist. Mmmm energylishish.
Freaking me out...
I'm sure I did other things. I'm sure I can talk about something other than my life.
Oil! Of course. Very interesting. I remember when diesel was 50c, now it's over 105!!! WTF. Back to school on Tuesday, woopie. Not long left of the year now, so it's good I've picked a Uni. I really can't make out how not helpful the UWA open day was. And their live music sucked, and was out of the way, and only went for a very short while. And it didn't appear there were many people. I already can't wait until Orientation day, new friends. Woopie! And that wasn't sarcasm. Doesn't look like leavers is happening for me, ho hum. If it actually isn't, which is no big loss to me. I'll buy a computer game and frag the world away for a week or two.
Tasty, I'll try to get more content up. The links page will be up very soon, like, Monday.
By the way, William Hung's made it onto my playlist, it's a remix. Oh so funny... and so has sailor moon... DON'T ASK.
What to do...
Date: 22/8/04
Well I was looking over my friend's website the other day, which is rather...odd. It's just one of those spaces where you happen to put things, in his case it's his rendered pics and other information people ask for. Like subject help in school, which I might add only caused me more problems because I had to explain step by step how to convert the code to the people. Of course I'd finished, but really. It would of been easier to give them the link on the school intranet that explains how to convert the code and even gives examples. At least one of the people managed to understand the code he'd given them all. Then again, he's had 3 years of programming experience, like most of us in that class.
Today I want to play some Rise of Nations, I wasn't quite happy with last nights results. Took me forever just to crush one opponent, and I even had an ally. Who it turns out was focusing purely on his economy, which explains why I could ask him for 20,000 tonnes of oil and get it. Every few minutes... but I got a hefty score for only an hour and a half of play.
After that, and lunch. I must do my drama folio for the task, cause it's almost over; finish a draft for my English essay, and empty out the mathematics from one of my many files so I can hand the chemistry part of it in for the moderator on Tuesday. I think that's it. Do some chores...write a monologue... which reminds me. I'll be adding a new part to the site sometime in the future, a place for me to put up plays. I like writing them, and now people can read them. Too bad I don't have any of my old ones written down...perhaps I'll put them into text form.
There's 5 weeks left of schooling now, before the exam period begins. How atrocious. As if I didn't have enough assessments. I'm never too sure how many I've got, I tend to exaggerate them. It's always a nice surprise to find I've got a few hours free to do whatever. Which I generally spend doing nothing. Maybe I need more assessments?
Ah, contemplating my life. You must be terribly bored, I must get around to putting up some interesting things on this website. Unless you like drawing. Then please, take a look at the tutorials here.
Purpose...
Date: 21/8/04
The site is up, after years of thinking of what to do with a website, and a million or so concept ideas. I've just decided to put up one of those sites that I loathe to find, a site without a purpose! Alas! The horror. However, it gives me a place to place some handy links and rant with my own format. AND put up some art work, I'm not sure if there'll be much of my on paper work; mostly because my scanner is old and likes to pick up all the details which are invisible to the human eye. It's powerful...just dumb.
So perhaps I'll place up my graphic art, I tend to muck around with it a bit. As you can see by the banner. The banners actually the worst piece of graphical editing I've ever done, but I don't think I can get the effect I'm looking for with any of the programs I've accumulated. It's not THAT bad, but it'll definitely change. When I find my "style". Which I'm currently trying to work out with my art.
The city in the banner is Perth, my home city. If you can call it that, a decade ago it was referred to as the largest country town in the world. Which is probably true. I think our tallest building is about 50 storeys. I've been in hotels bigger than that!! But it's easy to get around, and very scenic. Great for people who like to take it easy.
Therefore, the purpose of this site, is for my own amusement. I don't have a counter right now, which means I can't tell who's been here, which doesn't really matter. Because at the moment nobody knows this site exists. If you run a google search of Konomex you can pretty much find random mentions of me across the net, which is cool. Seeing as I've been using it a good 7 years. Oh, and I have broadband.
*Dances*
I've currently got my drawing tutorial page up, and that's about it.
